Grimes Made Æ A-X12 A Lullaby With A.I.

[ad_1]

I promise you, I am not making this up.

Earlier this year, Grimes gave birth to her son — fathered by Elon Musk — and his name caused quite a stir. However, she affectionately calls him X. The baby, not Elon.

Since giving birth, Grimes has been pretty quiet about her day-to-day with the lil' guy, but we got a sneak peak of life with baby X in her NYT profile, and all I can say is...yes.

First, there's the lullaby. There's no "Rock-a-bye Baby" for baby X — instead, Grimes partnered with Endel (a tech company that creates personalized sound environments to reduce stress, increase focus, and improve sleep) to make the perfect croon for the 5-month-old.

“In general, stuff for babies is really just creatively bad,” she said. “I don’t want [his] first introduction to the world to just be all this aimless crap.”

Next, there's X's taste in art, which Grimes calls "radical."

In case you needed a refresher, Apocalypse Now is a war drama directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It's rated-R for disturbing violent images, language, sexual content, and some drug use — aka, not a traditional kids film, but hey, not my monkeys, not my circus.

United Artists

This doesn't shock me in the slightest.

But it's not just all fun and games with X! Grimes says that he's a very important part of her creative process — which I friggin' love:

X even helped Grimes with the music she produced for Endel; she used her baby as a sounding board. “The first version, there [were] too many sort of sharp bells, and it caused tears and just general chaos,” she said. As she fussed with the mix, “X would smile more and stuff.”

Is it conventional? Who cares?! I love how involved and in-sync Grimes seems to be with her kid. We truly love to see it!
