A handful of names have lent support to Shilpa Shetty after her husband Raj Kundra was arrested by the Crime Branch in relation to a case of production and distribution of pornographic content. But, her mentor and producer Ratan Jain has come forward to support the actress. Jain and Shilpa recently worked together in a film and have in the past collaborated on movies like ‘Hathyar’ (2002) and ‘Dhadkan’ (2000).
Taking Shilpa’s side and sympathizing with her travails, Jain says, “As much as I know Shilpa, she will not do something like that at all. I can’t really say, how much did she really know about her husband's business, but I don't think she was involved in it. Any family person should not do this kind of work and jitna main Shilpa ko jaanta hoon woh aisa kaam nahi karegi (I am sure Shilpa will not get involved in anything like this). But, having said that, one has to leave it to agencies that are investigating the case.”
Shilpa Shetty has not yet commented on the accusations against her husband Raj Kundra, who has been charged as the main accused in the pornography case. While there are reports about Shilpa's meltdown on seeing Kundra at the residence after the police took him to there during their search and investigation process. But, sources close to the actress say that reports of her hysterical reactions are not true. They’ve stated there is no truth to such media speculations.
Raj Kundra's bail plea was rejected by the lower court and he is likely to move the sessions court soon. It was also reported that he may remain in judicial custody for 14 days.
