Bring back remote learning: With COVID’s delta variant raging, NYC parents need the option

As the delta variant continues to wreak havoc all over the country, we must consider that it may not be realistic — or safe — for schools to fully reopen for in-person instruction. And even if they do, it is likely many parents will not feel comfortable sending their children. Yes, 75% of New Yorkers are vaccinated. But more than half of school-age children are not; those 11 and under, in fact, are still ineligible.
