The third match of the five-match Test series is being played between India and England in Leeds. On the second day of the match, the entire team of host England was seen wearing a black band on the arm. Whichever batsman came on the field, he had put this black band. This bandage was tied by the players of the team for a special reason. All the players of the team did this while mourning the death of former England captain Ted Dexter.
England Cricket shared the information with everyone about why the England team had landed on the second day of the match against India on Thursday with a black bandage on their arm. On Thursday itself, a tweet was told about this that our players have come down with a black bandage on their arm today. The reason behind this is that we have lost our former captain Ted Dexter. This is being done in his honor.

Former England captain Ted died on Thursday 26 August at the age of 86. He played 62 Test matches for his country in which he scored 4502 runs with 9 centuries and 27 half-centuries. His highest score in the Test was 205 runs which he scored in 1962 against Pakistan in Karachi.
After losing the toss against India, England bundled out India for just 78 runs in the first innings. After this, both the openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed gave a strong start to the team by making a century partnership. This was the first-century opening partnership for the hosts in Tests since 2016. The pair broke up after sharing a partnership of 135 runs. Mohammed Shami dismissed Burns.
